F you American Standard

The jacuzzi tub has been chillin in the fame for about 3 weeks. What's the holdup? I am glad had you ask. I've been waiting for the pump and heather to come in! I ordered the two off ebay and the pump came 3 days after I won the auction! The heater though, took forever! You want to know why? Because the seller is a douchebag. Anyways, here are pics of the two together:

The heater:

The pump and the heater together, wrong way.

Pump and the heather, the right way.

Okay, so you all are thinking about the size of the tub. The dimension is 36in x 60in. If you look at the pump, that bitch is really, really, really big! It turns 3300 RPMs. I have no idea how much HP that is but I am guessing it is more than 2! The home depot person told me that I need to stay within the rang of .5 to 1.5 HP! I haven't hooked it up yet to test it but what the hey, it'll work. So how much was the pump? 65 bucks including shipping. Retail price of the pump - more than 150 bucks. hell yeah.

Oh, I'm putting the pump in the basement underneath the tub (4 ft drop) instead of being on the same floor. That pump will scare the shit out of anyone when it comes on.

On to the heater! So how fancy can you get with the jacuzzi tub? How about a heater!? Hell yeah, this will be so awesome!! I will stay in the tub forever! Jets pounding my ass with hot 115F water!!

So the two are together. What's the holdup? Guess.... I'll give you a hint... the fittings. Yes, the fittings/threads are DIFFERENT! Like wtf American Standard. Why don't you use the same threads as commercial PVC pipes? GAWD. I have to wait until monday to call the SPA company to purchase the pipes. Here's the diagram of the madness.

Seriously... F you American Standard.

We have heat!

After spending about..... 1,200 on parts and labor, we have heat in the house!! I wonder how much my gas bill will go up this month. I may call the people back since I smell gas coming seeping from the basement. I already have a carbon monoxide protector but I just want to make sure.

Anyways, here's an update on what is going on in the house: nothing really.

I am pretty much broke because I am refinancing two houses (6K total) and I am taking two classes this semester ($2,500) and finishing up my degree!

I did spend a little bit this weekend when I found a chrome showerhead kit for the bathroom!

That looks hot! I got it at like a crazy discount! Lowes was having a sale and I got it for about 70 bucks! I bought some plumbing to go with it and I started installing it. I just took my time measuring and putting things together. I believe this weekend I may start putting the plumbing together and get things situated.

Sorry this is a boring post, but since I have no money, I can't do shit. I'll upload pics in a later post.
